In the teacher training programme, two subjects are usually studied, which are later taught. In addition, each teacher training course is accompanied by a compulsory course in educational science, which does not have to be specified separately as a subject when enrolling.

Course of Studies

The teacher training programme includes courses in linguistics at the Institute for Linguistics and Communication Studies and in literature at the Institute for German and General Literature Studies - Institut für Germanistische und Allgemeine Literaturwissenschaft. In the first semesters, students learn working techniques, scientific basics of the subjects and theoretical principles for the school profession.

Later on, in-depth scientific knowledge and skills and their implementation in the classroom will be covered. The teaching and research department German Didactics is responsible for this. - Lehr- und Forschungsbereich Fachdidaktik Deutsch.

The following study plan refers only to the language and communication science parts of the bachelor-related teaching degree program in German. A complete version can be found in the subject-specific examination regulations for the teaching subject German at grammar and comprehensive schools or at the vocational college.
